The Bridgman High School Concert Choir had the opportunity to sing with the 80’s Rock band, FOREIGNER at Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo. It was the performance of a lifetime for the choir students. They wore special #ChoirRocks t-shirts that were designed by choir director, Jennifer Ammerman. Students were treated like rock stars from the moment they entered the event area until the time they left. Each received an official choir backstage pass on a lanyard, as well as a seat to see the show. They sang backup on the band’s hit song, I Want to Know What Love Is, and received a standing ovation from the crowd when they were done. Israel Ashby was chosen to play the bass guitar at the end of the song. Izzy is a huge FOREIGNER fan and was having the time of her life. There were nearly 2,000 concert goers in attendance. It was an amazing night. Before the concert, the choir students sold FOREIGNER CDs to the concert goers as a way to raise funds for The GRAMMY Foundation, which in turn donates money to public school music programs to help keep music alive in our public school systems. A powerpoint presentation and video of the choir’s performance were presented at the Sing Into Spring Concert on Thursday, May 12.
