PRE-SALE ATHLETIC TICKETS
Student tickets are available for $2 each for home sporting events, and may be purchased in the school office.
These are valid for BCS school games only – which includes Berrien Springs, Brandywine, Bridgman, Buchanan, Comstock, Countryside Academy, Covert, Grace Christian, Howardsville Christian, LMC, Michigan Lutheran, New Buffalo, Parchment & River Valley.  They are not valid for post-season games.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
The PTO collects Box Tops for Education as an ongoing school fundraiser. Whenever a student brings in a total of 50 neatly trimmed box tops attached to our special monthly form, they will receive a prize! In order for General Mills to award 10 cents per label, please make sure they are neatly cut out. Please identify the form with the teacher’s name – to ensure their class gets credit. The class with the most box tops collected each semester will win a special lunch or treat.  NEW THIS YEAR:  Clipped box tops will be phased out by General Mills.  See information about using the new scanned App in your back to school packet!

IMPORTANT REMINDER TO PARENTS
Elementary Parents — Remember when you pick up your child in a vehicle you must use the parking lot pick-up process. Students using the “walker door” should live in the neighborhoods surrounding the elementary school and walk (not catch a ride to avoid the pickup lane) to their homes at the end of the school day. Your cooperation in this matter is appreciated.

2020-2021 PARENTS AS TEACHERS PLAYGROUPS
Berrien RESA will be sponsoring the free Parents as Teachers “Read, Play & Learn” playgroups for children 0-4 years old in the Bridgman Elementary MPR.  Dates will be posted when we reopen our building to outside groups.

CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM IN BERRIEN COUNTY
In November 2014, the Bridgman Board of Education passed the following definition of chronic absenteeism…”as a student who misses ten percent (10%) or more of the enrolled school days in a school year, whether absenteeism is due to unexcused, excused or disciplinary absences.”  Students who are displaying signs of chronic absenteesim will be notified via a letter from the school, identifying how much education is missed due to excessive tardies, as well as the percentage of days missed due to absences.  Truancy will be notified if the trend continues.

Days Missed in September with % of students who go on to become Chronically Absent:
< 2…………………………..12.6%
2-4 days absent………..49.5%
> 4 days absent…………87.8%
